ez2bg / nicelist seeding · public audits pending

The Nice List.
And the Naughty one.

A community-curated registry of humane software — and a list of software that structurally fails the same audit. Both gated by the ez2bg-policy enshittification bar. Most "alternatives to" lists are SEO chum; this one earns its entries.

How it earns. Every listing carries a per-vector audit (10 vectors from the policy taxonomy), a follow-the-money profit-mechanism chain, an ownership block, and a score against the shared bar. Naughty entries survive a 30-day maintainer-notify window before going public — naming, not brigading. The audit speaks; we don't.

Naughty List

four sections

How it works.

audit-gated
1.
The community nominates.
Any signed-in ez2bg user files a nomination. Payload names the tool, the category, the public URL, and the pitch — the case for why this belongs on either list. No rubber-stamps, no astroturf. Nominations are pre-audit.
2.
ez2bg-policy audits.
The audit scores 10 vectors — data hostage, attention capture, rent-seeking, surveillance, bait-switch, moat-building, adversarial interop, algorithmic manipulation, artificial friction, regulatory capture. A separate ownership audit records the corporate form and funding model. Both are cited.
3.
Ingest reconciles.
Grade A/B, phase 1 → Nice List. Grade F, phase ≥ 2 → NAUGHTY_PENDING with the 30-day maintainer-notify window running. Recovery moves entries to Retired, not silently back to Nice. Falling off the list is as important as getting on it.

Nominate a tool — for either list. Sign-in required. Pitches that meet the honesty bar move to audit; the rest get a public reason. See the source for the intake schema.
